3D inspection from Sick
Sick presents TriSpector 1000, an industrial 3D inspection sensor for automated in-line detection, plug and play with no additional programming needed for the set up. Suitable for quality control in food processing and packaging operations, it can check presence, position, dimensions, orientation and labelling, as well as examine the contents and fill of containers, detecting missing items and damaged or wrong ones.
TriSpector 1000 is based on 3D laser triangulation, with a camera angled to capture a series of profiles of objects moving through a projected laser beam, building up a shape profile of it achieving true 3D vision, even when color, position and height of the object vary, also tolerating changes in angle position of packages on the conveying line. Integrated data processing power enhances 3D navigation, allowing checking of presence of label, printed pattern or object rotation. A micro SD card can store the profiles, allowing setting to be cloned for easy replacement or use on other lines, and the device is available in three models with different scanning widths, varying fields of view and resolutions fitting different needs. The sensor is easy to install and use, and the unit is supplied in rugged IP67 casing, withstanding harsh or food processing environments.
