18 SPECIAL HANNOVERMESS E 2023 Every year, one country is spotlighted at the Hannover Messe. This year, the Partner Country will be Indonesia. The Country’s participation at the Hannover Messe 2023 as an Official Partner Country is in line with the strategic initiative ‘Making Indonesia 4.0’ in order to answer the challenges of the 4th industrial revolution. In Indonesia, the government has set a goal of imple- menting Industry 4.0 in order to increase the competitiveness of its manufacturing sector. In order to achieve this goal, the Indonesian government has implemented a number of initiatives and programs. One of these is the ‘Making Indonesia 4.0’ pro- gram, which was launched in 2017 and aims to promote the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies in the country’s manu- facturing sector. This program focuses on several key areas, including automation and robotics, IoT, and advanced materi- als. The government also plans to increase investment in research and development (R&D) in order to develop new technologies and capabilities that can be used in the manufacturing sector. Additionally, it plans to improve infrastructure, such as power supply and Internet connectivity, to support the implementation of Industry 4.0 technol- ogies. Furthermore, to support the com- panies, the government also established several agencies such as The National Innovation Agency (Badan Inovasi Nasion- al) and The National Advanced Industry Center (Pusat Industri Tinggi Nasional) to accelerate the implementation of Industry 4.0, and it’s regulative, standardization and certification. The implementation of Indus- try 4.0 in Indonesia is still ongoing, and the government is actively working to create the necessary conditions for the successful adoption of these technologies. The roadmap As reported by the Ministry of Investment/ BKPM (www.investindonesia.gov.id ), Indo- nesia’s Ministry of Industry has designed ‘Making Indonesia 4.0’ as an integrated roadmap to implement a number of strat- egies to enter the Industry 4.0 era.
