36 SPECIAL EMO 2023 Promotional message Ghiringhelli’s A80 is exhibited with the new CNC Fanuc 0i-F Plus. Rettificatrici Ghiringhelli SpA of Luino, Varese, has been designing accurate centerless grinding solutions of highest quality for over 100 years, with a constantly renewed and customisable range of machines, automations and flexible modular systems. The compa- ny is mainly devoted to exportation, with nearly 90% of its output sold abroad: more than 3,000 centerless grinding machines are de- livered to 30 countries worldwide. Ghiringhelli, which offers a prompt and highly qualified after-sales service, is present on the global market with a broad portfolio of products referring to, unsurprisingly, as ‘centerless solutions’. It is present at the EMO international exhibi- tion in Hanover: Hall 11 - Stand E37, where it exhibits in addition two interesting products. A80 range with extended CNC options The A80 centerless grinding machine with fixed centre (C.F.) is presented with the new CNC Fanuc 0i-F Plus. This implemen- tation extends the choice of CNC solutions available on the A80 range and able to satisfy a wide range of different production and market needs. The new Fanuc 0i-F Plus numerical control is equipped with a 15” Touch-Screen display housed on an ergo- nomic console that can be adjusted by the operator. Thanks to the Ghiringhelli- owned HMI interface, the user environment has been designed to be easy and intuitive to ensure the best user experience. It features dedicated icons, high visibility design and animated functions that simplify all (even the most complicated ones) operations for the setting-up, programming and execution of rapid processing cycles, advanced diagnostics, remote con- trol, remote diagnostics and periodic preventive maintenance. APG-S range with smart machine axes ball screws Ghiringhelli is also exhibiting its APG-S high-precision centerless grinding machine in a high cutting speed version, where the main working axes are equipped with smart ball screws thanks to the application of the new Hiwin i4.0BS system, an innovative Edge Computing solution designed for predictive maintenance on the status of the axes ball screws. This addition is represented by a system equipped with ECM module and patented multifunc- tion sensors mounted on each ball screw. Using advanced al- gorithms, the system identifies the right moment to lubricate the axes, to monitor vibration and temperature anomalies, and to analyse, recognise and signal the natural decay of the preload level of the ball screws before an unwanted situation arises. This system maintains the initial stiffness performance of the axes ball screws and adds to the numerous Ghiringhelli’s functions already integrated into the CNC, thereby improving the efficiency of the predictive maintenance operations.
