Publiredazionale 24 Speciale W ith the success of its ninth edition, SPS Italia has further consolidated its position as the key trade fair in Italy showcasing automation and smart, digital, flexible manufacturing. 41,528 visitors (+18%) and 854 exhibitors (+6%) attended what was a rich and very well-planned event. The District 4.0 project, divided into thematic areas, was a platform for the dissemination of ideas linked to technological innovation in Industry 4.0. Other successful features included the organisation of travelling events before and after the fair, and projects in strategic areas such as ICT, IoT; Industrial Big Data and related analytics, cyber security, industrial software, robotics and mechatronics, vision systems and additive manufacturing. The result is a network of professionals who bring valuable skills and expertise, and more widely available information about innovative technologies in Italianmanufacturing. The tenth edition, to be held in Parma from 26 to 28 May, 2020, will bring with it a new challenge. It has already been announced that ‘District 4.0’ will be back in an even bigger form, with a new area devoted to additive technologies and 3D printing. The fair is changing its name: it will now be known simply as SPS, an acronym that stands for ‘Smart Production Solutions’. Themove was made official at the main exhibition in Nuremberg on the occasion of the fair’s 30th anniversary, and the Italian edition has followed suit ahead of 2020, in a revamp that includes a new logo. The abbreviationmakes things simpler and smarter. Now, attention will shift to software solutions – the real heart of automation, present and future. The new acronym also encompasses IT technologies: the cloud, big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning and digital twins, which are clearly taking the world of automation to a whole new level. SPS is associating itself with current digital transformations and sending out a clear signal that it intends also to cover the opportunities offered by the digitisation of industrial manufacturing. A natural evolution of the brand, and a sign that it is keen to keep up with developments and the continual process of renewal taking place. Ne esce un network di professionisti, competenze, valori professionali e divulgazione delle tecnologie innovative del mondo manifatturiero italiano. L’edizione 2020, la decima, si svolgerà a Parma dal 26 al 28 maggio e sarà una nuova sfida. Tra le anticipazioni quella dell’ampliamento del ‘District 4.0’ con una nuova area dedicata alle tecnologie addittive e stampa 3D. Ufficializzato dalla fiera madre di Norimberga in occasione del 30° anniversario, l’edizione italiana si adegua in vista del 2020 al cambio di logo. Un naturale sviluppo del brand, segno di adeguamento e rinnovamento continuo. In occasione del 30° anniversario, l’edizione italiana si adegua in vista del 2020 al cambio di logo in SPS e si identifica nell’acronimo Smart Production Solution.
